Deadly Shooting at FedEx Center in Indianapolis

On Thursday, April 14th, a gunman opened fire at the FedEx Ground Plainfield Operations Center in Indianapolis. Eight people were killed, and more were injured in the attack. The victims ranged in age from 19 to 74 years old. Unfortunately, this is the third such attack in the Indianapolis area in 2021.

The attacker turned the gun on himself after harming the people inside the facility. The shooter has been identified as 19-year-old Brandon Scott Hole, a former employee. Additionally, the FBI revealed that it had been keeping tabs on him, and he’d even been questioned.

Four Sikhs were killed in the shooting, but authorities don’t believe there was any racial motivation involved. FedEx workers have already gone back to work, only a week later.

This mass shooting is putting yet another strain on Indianapolis, following two other such events on January 24th, and March 13th. There was reportedly yet another shooting on Indy’s Northeast side on April 22nd as well, though very little information is available on that.

The 8 victims lost their lives simply after going to work. Karli Smith, Samaria Blackwell, Matthew Alexander, Amarjeet Kaur Johal, Jaswinder Singh, and John Weisert will be dearly missed. Hopefully, these shootings will not continue, and no more innocent lives will be taken.
