Blood Drive donors generously give 70 pints of blood.

On October 19th, CHS’s Red Cross Club held their second blood drive in the main gym. Once again, the club collaborated with Chesterton’s Bigby and provided free cookies and coupons to donors. Red Cross Club members managed to sign up over a 100 student donors in just three days!

After six hours straight of collecting blood, 70 entire pints of blood were collected in total. Because each donation can save as many as three lives, these 70 pints can save up to 210 patients.

Red Cross Club will be hosting another blood drive on Thursday, April 6th (maroon day). Students who are 16 years or older will once again have the opportunity to help save more lives. The club plans to make this blood drive even more of a community wide effort by joining forces with local food trucks and small businesses to provide some extra perks for donors.
