The CHS Pep Band excites the fans at both boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball games. Their riffs vary from commonly heard music from famous artists to traditional fight songs. The Pep Band creates a different atmosphere during basketball games. The music is sometimes reminiscent of something you would hear in a 1980’s basketball movie and brings a sense of nostalgia even if you weren’t born in that era. Though they play at many basketball games, not all feature the Pep Band.

For fans to get a chance at listening to the Pep Band, they may attend the following dates: December 16th for the Girls vs. Valparaiso game, January 6th for Girls vs. Merrillville, January 7th for Boys vs. Merrillville, January 13th for Girls vs. Hanover Central, January 17th for Boys vs. Hobart, January 20th for Boys vs. Crown Point, January 27th for Boys vs. Lake Central, and finally, February 10th for Boys vs. Portage. All games will start at approximately 6:00 PM and will last anywhere from 2-3 hours.
