It’s that time of the year again! Homecoming week has finally arrived. Starting off Chesterton High School’s excitement, Spirit week will begin September 5, 2023. Kicking off the week will be on Tuesday. Dress up with one of your friends for the Rhyme without a reason theme! Dress up as something that rhymes, a great example being Chads and Dads. Wednesday will be “Barbenheimer”. Dress up like a barbie character by wearing bright colors, or dress up in a suit for Oppenheimer! Thursday will be Anything But a Backpack day. While respecting the rules, by not bringing in anything alive, or bringing in anything that wouldn’t fit in an overhead airplane compartment.
Lastly, Friday will be class colors. Show your school spirit and dress for your grade! Freshman will be wearing white, Sophomores will be wearing gold, Juniors wear Maroon, and Seniors wear black! Friday there will also be a pep session held at the end of the school day, an abbreviated schedule for this day will be available. The homecoming parade will be at 4 pm on September 8. Clubs and organizations are welcome to participate in the parade but must contact Mr. Tenbarge or Mr. Potter.
The homecoming football game will be on September 8, 2023. Chesterton Trojans will host DAC foe the Laporte Slicers. The Trojans will be looking to end their current 3 game losing streak and earn their first victory of 2023.
The homecoming dance, the event everyone is looking forward to, will be held on Saturday, September 9. The dance will be held from 7 pm to 10 pm, in the cafeteria. Tickets are on sale now, and will be $10, with a small service fee through Event link. Ticket sales end on September 7, 2023. This year’s homecoming theme is A Night in Paris, so dress appropriately and be prepared for a spectacular night!
“I’m looking most forward to the dance, because it promises to be a great night while I’m hanging out with all of my friends!” junior Izzy Carney expressed.
