Calling all student writers! Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors Holocaust Museum and Education Center is back with another chance to win an essay writing contest. The contest is open to all students in grades 9-12, and all essays must be submitted by Friday, September 15, 2023. The topic of the paper must be about one of the four life lessons that CANDLES founder and holocaust survivor, Eva Kor, lived by. Include in the essay how the lesson of your choice applies to your life, and it must be 500-1000 words. Two winners will be selected and they will be recognized at the 2023 Evening of Light event on October 13, 2023, in Indianapolis. Winners will also receive tickets to the event. Hi! I am Shayani Hall and I am in my senior year at CHS. This is my first year writing for the Sandscript and I am the new Features Editor for this year. I am a member of both groups of the CHS show choirs. I love to dance, sing, paint, and bake. I am also a huge music lover of all genres exept country. I chose to join newspaper because I love to write and I would like to share that with others! I am super excited to be a new writer for the Sandscript.
