It’s been a long time coming. On Sunday, September 24, twelve-time Grammy Award-winning artist Taylor Swift was seen in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. It was quite unusual to see as Swift is normally down on the floor. However, nothing about Swift’s presence was unusual. If she weren’t a celebrity, the singer would have just looked like any other Chiefs fan.
It all started this summer when Swift’s “The Eras Tour” went to Arrowhead Stadium for two nights. Kelce was in attendance and revealed in his podcast, New Heights, that he enjoyed and commended the 3-and-a-half-hour show that Swift puts on. At Taylor’s shows, it is tradition to trade handmade friendship bracelets with lyrics and motifs of the Taylor Swift universe. Kelce revealed on the podcast that he wanted to give one of these friendship bracelets to Swift with his number on it. However, he was unsuccessful in that feat.
Nevertheless, 87 was determined to be the lucky one and get a chance with Swift. At the beginning of September, rumors began to swirl that Kelce and Swift were in early talking stages. On September 21, Kelce was interviewed on the Pat McAfee Show.
The Chiefs player said, “I told her ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead. You might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.”
What if I told you none of it was accidental? At the Chiefs vs. Bears game, Swift accommodated Kelce’s request and made the entire stadium shimmer at Arrowhead Stadium. This time, she was up in the private boxes with Kelce’s friends and family. She was seen next to his mom, Donna. The two were laughing and cheering for their favorite player. Swift even shared a chest bump with another person in the private box. Kelce appeared shy and smitten down on the field. His behavior, normally described as very enthusiastic, was much more tame than usual.
The game ended in a victory for both Kelce and the Chiefs. Once the game was over, Kelce and Swift left the stadium side by side and hopped into their “getaway car”, a convertible Kelce was driving. It was another rare sight to see, Swift traveling down public roads without security. That night, it was reported that Kelce rented out an entire restaurant for Swift, his family, and his team. The party consisting of around 60 people lasted until 2 in the morning and the two were very affectionate with each other.
This past Tuesday, after the game, Kelce spoke on his podcast about Swift’s appearance.
“Shout out to Taylor for pulling up… I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her,” Kelce said.
Their rumored romance has sparked excitement amongst both Swifties and Chiefs fans! Many are hoping that this relationship will be an end game, as the two are seemingly perfect for each other. Everyone is having their own reactions to the news.

“I think they’re a great match. They both have a significant role in their industries/fields, Travis in football and Taylor in the music industry. I hope they work out!”, Senior Aubrey Capehart said.
“I think they make a cute couple. Their relationship was definitely a surprise, but it seems like they would make a good couple since both are in the public eye”, Senior Zoe Trakas said.
Overall, Swift and Kelce are nothing serious yet and seem to only be having fun! I can’t wait to see if this is going to be forever or if it will all go down in flames.
