Chesterton High School (CHS) Student Government will be hosting the annual Hall-o-ween, an event where community members can come together to trick or treat in the school hallways. Hall-o-ween will take place on Tuesday, October 24th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests are asked to enter using Door 1 and to bring a non-perishable item that will be donated to the Duneland Food Pantry.
“Hall-o-ween is our biggest event of the year, I’d say. We usually have about 40 clubs that participate and have tables where they pass out candy in the hallways. Families come and make a donation and get to trick or treat and have an awesome time. There’s also a lot of energy as everybody has their own theme for each table,” Student Government sponsor, Miss Kaczmarski said.
Families will pay $10.00 and single students will pay $5.00 to participate in this event. Snacks and water will be available for purchase.
Each year, clubs, academic teams, and extracurricular organizations have the opportunity to dress up in themes decided by their groups, adding to the festive atmosphere for everyone involved.
“It’s a community based event, so it’s not just within the schools. We invite the entire community to come with their kids, siblings, whoever it is, to walk the hallways of CHS and get candy from all organizations and clubs here. I think it’s a really fun event for everyone because it allows the younger generations to be able to see what’s going on here at CHS,” senior Hilary Reibly.
