For all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, the annual test day has arrived! On Wednesday, October 18th, all students except seniors are required to take the PSAT next week. This exam will prepare juniors for the SAT, readying students to do the best they possibly can on the exam. The exam starts promptly at 8:15 am and students will not be allowed to enter the testing room after that time. Students will receive information about their testing room location via email, as well as a master exam site rooming list that will be posted at the main office and cafeteria. School will start at 7:40 am, it’s regularly scheduled time and will end normally at 2:45 pm.
Students are permitted to leave early after 1:10 pm but will need to submit an attendance note to the attendance office. This note should have a parent or guardian’s signature on it, with the reason for early departure. Students should try to aim to submit their notes by Monday next week, the 16th, and not on the actual exam day. For students who are not able to leave early, the bus schedule will remain normal. Buses will not be arriving early on PSAT day and will be at CHS at 2:45 pm to pick up students.
Seniors do not have to attend school on Wednesday, but they must complete one of the following: going on a college visit, attending their internship, working on college applications, or anything related to college activities. All seniors need to call the school to report their absence from school that day as well.
PSAT day is a really important day for all students. Make sure you go to bed early the night before and eat a healthy breakfast. Good luck to all students taking the exam!
