A recent trend that originated on the social media platform, TikTok, has been gaining much attention. The “Boo Basket” is where couples give their significant other a basket of fun fall treats, to celebrate the fall season. The basket can consist of anything, from candles to pumpkin spice-flavored things, it’s all one big surprise to the receiver. If this idea piques your interest, you’re probably wondering what to incorporate within your basket for your ‘boo’ or even your best friend! Here is a list of some great little gifts to include, but whatever you decide it will make your receiver’s day no matter what!
- A Fall Scented Candle
Starting off small, a fall-scented candle is a great way to incorporate the holiday season. This is great for your classic date night, or if you want to feel the calming ease that a candle brings. My favorite places to get some of my candles include the basics, Yankee Candle, and Bath and Body Works, but I also love to indulge in getting some of my favorite candles from small businesses as well. If I were you I would definitely include a candle in your basket.
- A Fuzzy Blanket
A cozy movie date isn’t complete without a cozy, fuzzy blanket to snuggle yourself up in. Small, large it doesn’t matter, I appreciate blankets in whatever size they come in. Target is where I’ve gotten some of my favorite throw blankets that I use almost daily. Even if they aren’t being used for a movie date, they are perfect for drinking morning coffee on the couch, or even decorative decor for your room! Stay warm this season with a cute throw blanket!
- Soap
This may seem not too exciting to include in your haul, but fall-scented soap is a great gift to give. Especially since it’s getting colder everybody is getting sick, so why not try to prevent the illnesses from infecting you with fun-smelling soap. Bath and Body Works is a great shop to stock up at, but I also recommend Target’s selection as well as your ordinary grocery market. Who doesn’t want to smell nice, include soap in your basket!
- Fuzzy Socks
To go along with a fuzzy blanket, might as well include fuzzy socks! Fuzzy socks have so many cute and interesting designs, they will definitely make your receiver’s day if included in your basket. Not only do they keep you warm, they are a great addition to a fall outfit to show people your creative style. I typically find my fuzzy socks on Amazon, but any shop will do. Include socks in your Boo Basket as soon as possible.
- Candy
Candy is one of the greatest things to receive on Halloween, so why not receive some a little earlier? Make sure to know your receiver’s favorite candy and start adding it to your basket! If you want to stay on the fall theme, then I recommend buying chocolate treats shaped in Halloween figurines, such as pumpkins or ghouls.
- A Scary Movie DVD
The best way to celebrate fall is by watching some fall classics. Most people do not watch films on DVDs, but it’s worth a try. Some classic movies for the Halloween spirit that you could include could be any number of the Scream franchise, or other classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th. If you want to go a more child-friendly route, movies such as Edward Scissorhands or The Addam’s Family are great picks too!
- Pumpkin Spice Flavored Things
While some may disagree, pumpkin spice-flavored foods and drinks are one of my favorite parts of autumn. There are an infinite number of things you can include, but some of my favorites are pumpkin-spiced flavored coffee creamer, cinnamon rolls, and even cake! Some of those you can’t include in a basket so I recommend getting boxed mixes if you want to go the pastry route, but if the drinks, such as coffee, intrigue you, make sure you refrigerate it and don’t let it sit out for too long.
- Gift Cards
Gift cards are great for any occasion but especially for this chilly weather that we will be embarking on for the next few months. Having a gift card for hot coffee or for a nice warm bowl of soup can definitely turn someone’s day around. Some places I would recommend would be Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee lovers, but Panera is also a great place to eat at during the fall season.
- Coffee Mugs
Another great gift for coffee lovers is a mug to not only drink coffee but for all of your fun fall drinks. A cute design or an inspirational quote are just a few of the designs you can put on a mug, which makes a unique gift to give to someone special. I love to get my mugs at Target or even my local supermarket, but other small business sites such as Etsy have great unique designs as well.
- A Squishmellow
Some may say this is a little childish, but squishmellows not only make the basket cuter, they also are a very cute and cozy addition to your basket. Most of these stuffed animals have cute Halloween additions, which are perfect to decorate with as well as to use as a pillow if you very much desire. I typically find mine at Target or get them off of Amazon, but regardless if you take this into consideration, your receiver will be very pleased.
Overall, a Boo Basket is a great way to tell a friend or a partner that you care about them this holiday season. Boo Basket’s aren’t for everyone but they will definitely bring a smile to someones face. Happy Halloween!
