The Chesterton High School Student Government is sponsoring a fundraiser for the Lurie’s Children’s Hospital, located in Chicago, Illinois. The fundraiser is also being sponsored by Zachary Jatkiewicz, a junior at Chesterton High School. The Student Government is looking for donations for the hospital, and they are requesting the following items: toys, clothes, coloring and activity books, and stuffed animals.
There are multiple spots across Chesterton where anyone can donate, including AJ’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, and Red Cup Cafe & Deli. These donation boxes will also be at the CHS main office and in the cafeteria. Donations will be accepted from November 11 until December 9.
“Being kind and helpful is just the right thing to do. I really enjoy fundraising because it allows me to help people.” CHS Junior and fundraiser sponsor Zachary Jatkiewicz said.
Students also have the chance to volunteer at any of the locations accepting donations. Anyone can show up and help out, no application needed. Volunteer’s will help make posters and collect donations. Students interested in supporting Lurie’s Children’s Hospital further should consider this volunteering opportunity as a chance to better help their community. Even if volunteering is out of the question, donating any items will help out so many kids at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. Consider collecting any items that fall under the requested categories and donating to help.
