Valentine’s Day can be intimidating for anyone looking to buy gifts for their significant other. There’s a lot of pressure for couples to get “the perfect gift” for their loved one and it can be stressful for anyone unsure of what to buy. Gift-giving can be particularly difficult when working with a tight budget as a high school student, but don’t worry! I have curated a list of the perfect Valentine’s gifts that are affordable and will be sure to make loved ones feel exceptional on this lovely holiday.
Budget 1: Gifts under $15
This list starts with the most affordable items found at $15 and under including candy, cards, fuzzy socks, and handmade gifts. Candy is a simple, yet affordable gift for anyone. The closer the holiday is, the more deals and discounts are placed on seasonal food items. This is a perfect opportunity to get a simple, tasty gift that anyone would be sure to enjoy. Cards are a great way to express appreciation for someone and they can be significant. Cards can be handmade, or specially selected at any number of stores. A handwritten note inside the card for the recipient can be very personal and special. Fuzzy socks are another simple gift that will most definitely be appreciated. Fuzzy socks come in a variety of colors, and patterns, and are a simple, low-cost present. Another budget-friendly gift, and my personal favorite is handmade gifts. There’s nothing like receiving a one-of-a-kind gift. Using talents to make authentic, unique gifts such as cards, clothes, art, or even baked goods can stand out since no one can replicate it! These gifts are inexpensive and will make anyone feel special.
Budget 2: Gifts $15-$30
Moving up into the more expensive gifts ranging from $15-$30 include flowers, blankets, and LEGO sets. Flowers might be more gender-specific, but shoppers can always go right with a fresh bouquet of gorgeous flowers. There’s no need to go crazy with them either, just a small bouquet will get the job done! Blankets are another cozy gift for that special someone. They’re simple, easy to find, and are enjoyed by anyone. The last gift in this budget bracket is LEGO sets. LEGO sets are a great way to spend quality time with that special someone. They range in price from as low as $5 and can get pretty expensive depending on how much one is willing to spend. On average though, most sets fit the $15-30 range, and they come in many different themes. These gifts are the perfect way to take it to the next level for Valentine’s Day.
Budget 3: Gifts $30 and up
Gifts included in the highest budget bracket are jewelry, clothes, and a dinner date. Jewelry can be bought for anyone and is very sentimental. Jewelry is a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day because it’s timeless and symbolic. Clothes are another easy gift for customers since clothes can be very personal. People often express themselves through clothes, and getting someone clothing that they like can be a sign of knowing their style and paying attention to things they like. The last Valentine’s “gift” is a romantic dinner date. Quality time can be more valuable than any tangible gift, and spending an evening at a nice restaurant will make anyone feel appreciated on Valentine’s Day. Some local restaurants to check out for a Valentine’s date night include Stacks in Valpo, Craft House in Chesterton, and Lucrezia in Chesterton.
These reasonably priced gifts are a surefire way to make everyone happy on this day of love!
