These board games are sure to provide entertainment for your next gathering
Inspired by CHS Sandscript’s recent Candy Land movie article.
Board games are a staple family fun activity across many households. They can be a means of cheap entertainment for a group of friends too. While board games may have diminished in terms of ‘number of players’ over the years, these classic games continue to generate excitement and spread joy in many around the world. Wanting to get back into these classics, but not sure which ones to choose nowadays? This board games ranking system can help you pick up where you left off all those years ago!
In this review, the board games are ranked based on the following categories: board art, gameplay, win condition, and social aspect. Board art is determined by the quality of the decoration displayed on the board. Game play is determined by the enjoyability of the game. Win condition is determined by how challenging it is to win the game. The social aspect ranking is determined by how enjoyable the social aspects of the game are.
5) Monopoly
Monopoly is a classic family board game. That is the problem with it. Monopoly has been the ruin of many families. The gameplay is simple but enjoyable. During the game players buy property and charge rent to other players whilst moving across the board. The last player that hasn’t filed for bankruptcy wins

4) Settlers Of Catan
Settlers of Catan is a settlement simulation roleplay game. Players are the leaders of competing settlements which can build, wage war, trade and expand. The first player that collects 10 victory points wins. I like the concept but the execution was flawed. The gameplay is too complicated. For example each player must roll a six sided dice to determine which tiles produce resources. Not for families or casual players.

Stratego is a classic military strategy board game. Players simulate being a Napoleonic era general. Stratego is the perfect mixture of fun and strategy. The average Stratego game has 381 moves although most moves are inconsequential, unlike chess. The game is won by capturing the opponents flag or all their moveable pieces.

1)Cards against humanity
Although not technically a board game, Cards against Humanity deserves a spot on the list. Cards against Humanity is a party game where players try to fill in various cards. At the beginning of each round the “card tsar” draws a black scenario card, players have to fill in that card with their answer cards. The person with the funniest response wins and becomes the next card tsar. Instead of board art for Cards Against Humanity I reviewed the cards based on humor. It’s my favorite game to play with friends. Not for families.
