On Wednesday March 6, 11th grade students across the country will take the SAT. Here at CHS, is no different. CHS juniors will take the SAT, so when arriving in the building tomorrow, all juniors should report to their testing rooms. The testing rooms, which are posted in front of the main office, are mostly sorted by Advisory classes. However, some teachers have been relocated to different rooms in the building to help eliminate distractions during testing. All freshman and sophomore students will report to their advisory classrooms. From there, each group will complete a knowledge assessment for half of the time, and view a convocation in the auditorium during the second half. Sophomores will see the Dunebrook presentation first, and then return for their knowledge assessment, while the freshman schedule will be the same, but flipped.
CHS Seniors do not have to be in attendance on SAT day, but are expected to complete one of three options: a college visit, complete a job shadow, or volunteer/community service. Again, no senior needs to be in attendance tomorrow.
After lunch students will go to all of their classes for short twenty minute blocks. During these 20 minute blocks, teachers will review, continue, or offer enrichment of current topics in class, but time will not really permit to have any sort of full length lesson. Be sure to be in attendance if you are a freshman, sophomore or junior, and juniors, be sure to get a good night sleep and a quality breakfast to prepare yourself best for the SAT.
