Student’s participation in extracurricular activities is something valued by colleges around the world. A student’s participation in things such as sports, clubs, and volunteer work is something many colleges look for in potential students. The volunteer work also benefits their community. The National Honors Society is working to provide as many volunteer opportunities to students as possible!
There are many volunteer opportunities available around Chesterton High School, as well as in the community. Some upcoming opportunities include the 8th Grade Parent Night held on Thursday, April 4. Mrs. Arthur requests around 10 volunteers to help hand out course requests to incoming parents and students outside the Auditorium.
There are also volunteer opportunities for the Unified Track Meets, Thursday, April 11 and April 18. The first Unified Track Meet will be held on April 11, as well as the following Thursday.
No experience is needed to volunteer, and it’s a great way to build a reputation. Volunteering will also earn students National Honors Society points, which can help with obtaining scholarships. Students should consider signing up for volunteer opportunities through the National Honors Society.
