The CHS Student Government recently announced that they will be hosting a family movie night in two weeks! Plan to come out and join them on September 19 at 7:15 pm, out on the Lacrosse Field/old soccer stadium. This is the first event of it’s kind, and the members of the student government are excited to put it on! There will be an inflatable movie screen set up on the CHS soccer field on the east side of the school near the back entrance.
This movie night is not just a fun event for the community, but also a chance to make a difference. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which helps improve the quality of life for millions of children around the globe. Monsters Inc. is the movie pick for the night. Chosen for its family-friendly nature, this movie follows the story of two monsters and their journey interacting with a human child. It’s perfect for viewers of all ages.
The entrance fee for the movie is $5 for a Duneland student and $10 for a family. Concessions will also be available to buy, so don’t worry about packing your own snacks. Bring your own lawn chairs and picnic blankets! And don’t forget to dress warmly and bring extra blankets, as it will get chilly once the sun sets.
If you’ve been looking for a family-friendly night out that also benefits a nonprofit organization, this is the thing for you! Not only will you be watching a great Pixar movie, but you’ll also be contributing to an organization that’s been advocating for children around the world for decades.
