The CHS Winter Guard is a competitive group, and this year, they have been competing at the Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA). On March 11, 2025, at 7 pm, they will put on a community performance, along with the Chesterton Middle Schools guard, hosted in the CHS gymnasium.
The high school winter guard has competed with their show “Let it Pour” at three competitions, with more still ahead. At each competition, they placed in the top five, and are currently ranked ninth out of seventy-eight guards overall.
The Chesterton Middle Schools Winter Guard is not a competitive group, but a place for 7th and 8th graders to learn what color guard is and the basics of spinning a flag. They have a show choreographed for them by members of the high school guard that is titled “Step Right Up”, a circus-themed show. They will do their opening performance at community night.
Also put on at this event is recognition of the seniors. This year two seniors will be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the activity.
Community Night is a free event open to the public, and everyone is invited. Whether you have someone considering joining, a family member in it, or just want to see what it is, make sure to come down and watch the performances.
