Duneland Exchange Club’s 33rd Annual Youth Talent 2025 Showcase is right around the corner! This event is offering the young performers of Duneland a chance to showcase their talents to the community and compete to bring home a prize. Whether you’re a singer, dancer, musician, or any kind of performer, Duneland wants to see you up on that stage shining your brightest. The talent show will take place in the Chesterton High School auditorium on Saturday, April 12, at 6 pm. Tickets are going to be $10 for adults and $5 for students. Proceeds from the show will go towards CHS Natural Helpers.
Auditions for the talent show will be held March 12 and 13, 2025, at Bailly Elementary School. In order to be eligible to participate, you must be a Duneland area student and consent to photos taken during rehearsal and performances being posted to social media. Auditions will be happening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Participants should only attend one day of auditions, and only one act is allowed per performer. Not all auditions will be selected to perform at the talent show, so expect to audition with maximum effort. Participants whose acts have been selected will be notified via email. Be prepared to keep an eye out for the email.
Judging criteria and rules of the competition are strictly enforced. Contestants will be expected to know and follow the rules of the competition. The factors that determine whether your act will be picked for the show include technique, difficulty for the participant’s age group, personality, showmanship, attire, and overall performance. Judges have the final opinion, and poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. All performances will be capped at four minutes. Participants are allowed to perform solo acts or a group performance with only one accompanist (not the main performer). Group acts which contain members from multiple divisions are required to perform in the division of the oldest group member.
All acts chosen to perform at the talent show are required to attend a mandatory dress rehearsal on Friday, April 11 at 6 pm in the Chesterton High School auditorium. This is an important meeting to help performers get familiar with the routine they will be participating in on show night.
The winner of each division will receive a $100 cash prize and the top three placers of each division will earn a trophy. Each participant of the show will receive a medal for their hard work and dedication in perfecting their act.
