The annual bittersweet graduation season is upon us as the 2024-2025 comes to a close, and this year Chesterton High School is bidding farewell to an exceptional group of students. The class of 2025’s graduation ceremony will take place on June 4, just a week after their final day of high school classes. Amidst all the excitement, there are still a few key details administrators want graduates and their families to be aware of before releasing them of their high school responsibilities.
The graduation ceremony will be held at 7:00 pm that night in the CHS football stadium. In case of spring showers, the function will be postponed to the following night of June 5, and if weather does not permit on either of those nights, to the following Sunday of June 8. Regardless of a raincheck, the 7:00 pm start time does not vary. However, given the immensely successful graduation rate CHS prides itself on, finding the ideal seat amongst the proud families in the audience will prove an impossible task for some. Early admission to the ceremony will commence at 5:30-6:00 pm, but is reserved specifically for bearers of the White Ticket. General admission opens at 6:00, and with every minute that passes, the opportunity for prime seating closes. Remember: on time is late!
As far as the rules go, students must abide by the professional dress code enforced at the event. Heels, flip flops, slides, sandals, tennis shoes, and most importantly Crocs are prohibited from the event. Caps must be barren of customization and gowns must be zipped to the top indefinitely. Jeans, shorts, and other casual pants are also barred from the event, and graduates are only permitted to wear decorations earned through CHS.
Lastly, the audience is expected to behave respectively and by the set Chesterton precedent. This turning point in students’ lives only comes once, and no one should deprive them of a smooth-sailing send-off.
