Jacob T. Lukach, Sandscript Director
I’m Mr. Lukach, Director of the Sandscript student newspaper at Chesterton High School. I also teach English here at the school, to sophomores and seniors. I love what I do, and I also love to write. I grew up right here in Chesterton, and attended this very school. I have a mom, Robin, a dad, Bill, and one brother, Adam. My parents have been (and are still) married for 45 years, and my brother wrote for the Chicago Tribune, but adopted the family business and now teaches in California. You could say it runs in the family, since my mother taught English as well. From 2015-2018, I lived and taught in Edmond, Oklahoma, but after a few years, decided to return home. I enjoy sports, music (except country) and movies (except horror). I graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette in the winter of 2014, with an English Education degree. I love the Boilermakers football and basketball programs, as well as the Boston Red Sox, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Chicago Bulls in professional sports. I hope you will consider joining the Sandscript, and being part of our fun, friendly and cohesive staff!
