Valpo Popcorn Fest

Grae Stockhausen, News Section Editor

The Popcorn Festival happened on the 11th of September, a day of pain and injustice towards many individuals due to the destruction of the Twin Towers and the Pentagon 20 years ago. Although the festival occurred on such a day, there were many activities to enjoy, including the Popcorn Panic Race and live music from two different stages. There was a kiddie area with games and inflatable slides and obstacle courses. As always, there was a beer garden for the adults to enjoy drinks while watching the bands that had played at the Amphitheater. Everyone loved how there were many vendors crowding the streets, from food vendors to tarot card readings to small businesses. In addition, live music played during the parade procession and the rest of the festival. Businesses were open and many people were socializing, dancing, and partying in the streets all through the day.
