Trick Or Treaters Take to the Halls of CHS

Caroline Dardeau, Editor in Sports

Chesterton High School Student Government put on an amazing event for the community and the students and staff in Duneland School Corporation. During the weeks of preparation, the student government promoted the event, reaching out to all who were at a table providing candy and good spirits to the children. All of this was made possible with the help of all those who sponsored them. The student government sends a special thank you to the custodians and those who helped with the set up and clean up for the event. All of the clubs and organizations who participated provided the children and attendees with joy, halloween spirit and of course, candy.

There was much success and happiness presented throughout the time of trick or treating. The turnout was phenomenal with the children excited to be there and were very excited for the haunted hallway. Many parents enjoy the trick or treating because it is a safe environment that provides the safety that neighborhoods might not provide.  Due to covid last year, the student government did a trunk or treat in the parking lot, but were so excited to bring the event back inside, especially since it rained during this year’s event. The high school and all who attend love seeing all of the tables decorating to their personal themes.  Here at the Sandscript, the staff chose a western theme and even brought in haystacks thanks to social studies teachers Mr. Deruntz. The student government enjoys putting on trick or treat, and will be doing so next year, and cannot wait to see you there again.
