Valparaiso’s Memorial Opera House will be hosting auditions for the musical Matilda on December 5th and 6th from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be an optional callback on December 8th at 8:00 p.m. located in the facility’s auditorium at 104 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso.

Matilda The Musical is a musical adapted from Roald Dahl’s Matilda (1988) and is about a young girl with telekinetic abilities and a love of books who overcomes difficulties with her family and helps her school teacher take hold of her life.

Those interested in auditioning are asked to prepare 16-24 bars of music from a musical as well as being prepared for a dance call. Those auditioning are asked to wear proper clothing fit for dancing, as no bare feet or socks will be allowed onstage. Those auditioning may also be asked to read or sing from Matilda The Musical. Rehearsals will last from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday from December 13th to February 10th.

The performance will be available to see in February of 2022.
