Chesterton vs, Merrillville Swim Meet

Chesterton swim team grabs another win!

The smell of chlorine filled the air last week when Chesterton faced off with Merrillville in their second meet on the 16th. The girls swim team brought their all, winning the meet by a landslide, however losing the diving portion. Many of our strong swimmers were able to make a splash with the relays and medleys, and gave a performance for CHS to build off of for the rest of the season.

In their landslide win, Chesterton had many event winners.  Winning their respective events were Morgan Gear, Annmarie Easter, Olivia Piunti, Mia Kirkham, Rachel Dildine, and Alana Jardenil

The meet went incredibly well for the Trojans, even for those that didn’t win their events.  Madelin Billings, a senior on the team, spoke about the success of the meet, “[It was] a lot better than our first meet, at least for me personally. I saw a lot of good swims today, and I’m excited for how this season will go. Our season is still uncertain though. I’m trying to get through each day, practices are hard.”

In light of last year’s season being a success, both of the teams have been trying to keep their win streak going.
