Rapper PnB Rock, real name Rakim Hasheem Allen, was shot fatally during a robbery attempt at a Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles restaurant in Los Angeles on September 12, 2022. The rapper was with his girlfriend at the time when the suspect walked into the restaurant, brandished a firearm then demanded jewelry from PnB. There was a following verbal exchange, then the suspect shot PnB Rock multiple times and stole various valuables, and then fled to a vehicle waiting in the parking lot outside the restaurant. PnB was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Chief of the LAPD says that an Instagram post of the rapper may have led to his death, as he was tagged in a now-deleted post by his girlfriend with their location visible. LAPD Chief, Michel Moore, said that the robbery occurred soon after PnB was tagged online with the location of the restaurant.

“He was with his family — with his girlfriend or some kind of friend of his — and as they’re there, enjoying a simple meal [he] was brutally attacked who apparently [came] to the location after a social media post,” Moore said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

The death of PnB Rock came as a shock to many, friends, family, and fans alike. His music reached many while he was alive, and will continue to reach even more despite his passing.
