Last night on Tuesday October 4th, 2022, was a night that made history, as the final episodes of the legendary TV show, The Walking Dead premiered at last. The Walking Dead first met the screen on October 1, 2010, which is coincidentally one day before these final episodes will be released over a decade later. Soon after the show’s debut, watchers fell in love. Whether it was the topic of the undead, or the unmatched charisma of the characters on screen, there was something for everyone to enjoy. In fact, the very first episode gathered a sum of 5.35 million viewers. In 2015, the numbers only grew, as The Walking Dead earned the title of “Most Bingeworthy Show” by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association that year.

In terms of the cast, each character plays a salient role in The Walking Dead. The show does a great job in introducing characters since it tells a story about each one. For example, the main character Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, was introduced as a sheriff before the outbreak, a husband to his wife Lori, and a father to his son Carl in the first episode. Additionally, each actor earns a lot of money for being on the show, as they rake in anywhere from 100,000 to 1,000,000 dollars for every episode.

Looking forward to this final season premiere, fans have a varied amount of theories about what is to come for The Walking Dead’s last episodes. One commonly talked about is the potential return of Rick Grimes, the main character up until season 9 episode 5, where he was taken off the show. The role of the main character was then moved to his best friend Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus. There have also been speculations about whether the current group of survivors will make it to the end, or they will join the billions of living corpses walking the earth. Whichever way the show ends, it has had a very enjoyable run on the screen, and fans are grateful for the memories.
