On Saturday, November 26, Valparaiso celebrated the passing from autumn into the Christmas season. Carollers performed in front of an extremely large crowd at The Porter Health Amphitheater, including our own CHS Sandpipers. The Pipers sang an assortment of the songs they will perform at the Madrigal Dinners, such as “O Christmas Tree,” “Gloucestershire Wassail,” “Masters in this Hall,” “Lo, How A Rose E’er Blooming,” “The Falcon,” “In the Bleak Mid-Winter,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Psallite,” “Joy to the World,” “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

Not only was there caroling from multiple singing groups, but photos with Santa were available, as well as some figure skating performances at the ice rink just by the Amphitheater. After a two-hour wait, the large pine tree adorned with lights and large ornaments was lit up and showed off its glittering Christmas splendor. Let the snow fall as it is finally time for Christmas!
