The Chesterton Art Center will be inviting everyone to bring their family to attend the Family Art Day. This event will be held on February 3rd, from 10 am to 2 pm. If you and your family are interested, the location for the family art day is 115 S 4th St, Chesterton, IN 46304. If you need to contact the Chesterton Art Center visit chestertonart.org. The phone number to contact the Chesterton Art Center is (219) 926-4711.
Materials will be provided for families to use, and this night is for all ages! People are welcome to take a tour of the Art Center and are encouraged to make art. Once you enter the Chesterton Art Center, everyone will be given a tour of the current solo exhibit, created by Bryana Bibbs, who works in the intersection of textiles. This piece is a woven art piece created by multiple materials such as handmade fibers and yarns, silk cocoons, dried paint, recycled sari silks, and more.
After the tour, kids will be able to participate in making little weavings, and coloring. Another activity presented will be paper weaving. Families can come and go as they please. Although it is not required, The Chesterton Art Center wishes that before attending this event, families sign up their kids for the event so that the CAC can get an idea of how many people will be attending. This can be found on their website provided in the link above and can be found under “Youth for Kids.”
