The Chesterton High School Dance Team will be hosting its third annual showcase on Sunday, January 28 at noon! Tickets for the showcase cost $10 at the door 31. Concessions, bake sales, and raffles will also be available to purchase and all proceeds will benefit CDT’s competition season!
At the showcase, they will perform all three of the dances that they’ll take down to UDA nationals on March 6. Furthermore, senior Addie Egan, juniors Amelia Kelly and Vanessa Vega, and freshman Lana Glazer all have solos and will showcase those.
“The team has been working very hard since July and we’re very excited to show it off at nationals,” said senior Ashley Lemon.
In addition to Chesterton’s dance team, the Chesterton High School Cheerleading Team will also be performing at the CDT Showcase. The CHS Cheer Team competes in the Game Day Division at UCA Nationals. Game Day is all about crowd involvement and showcasing the best game day elements, as it includes a band dance, sideline cheer, floor cheer, and fight song. The team will embark on their national journey on February 8!
“We’ve been working hard and putting in the reps to make this routine the best one we’ve had,” said senior leader Jaden Fields.
The cheer team will also be hosting its showcase on Sunday, February 4 at 3 pm at CHS. They will perform their routine as they prepare to leave four days later! The Lake Central Cheer Team and Crown Point Cheer Team will also be performing, as they are going down to UCA Nationals as well!
It is an exciting time of the year for these spirit squads. All teams have been diligently working and preparing for this. Best of luck to both teams!
