Remembering Lisa Marie Presley

Elvis Presley’s Only Child Passed Away at the Age of 54

Rylan Fields, Sandscript author

On January 12th, Lisa Marie died in her Calabasas home due to cardiac arrest. She was a singer, songwriter, mother of four, and a friend to many. Born to Elvis and Priscilla Presley, her life was centered around music. She produced some incredibly memorable hit songs like, “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet,” “Over Me,” and “Lights Out” which were adored by many. Although she was known by many as the only child of Elvis, she also received a humanitarian award for creating the Literacy, Education, and Ability Program. This is a program that works to assist in children’s education through active learning. Throughout her career, she was famous, but rockstar fame comes with its downsides. She had battled with opioid addiction for quite some time and recently before her death she had relapsed. Some believe this was the leading cause of her cardiac arrest. She was buried at her father’s Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tennessee next to her son.
