Introduction to the opposition.
So, AI, we have all heard about it, and we’ve heard it again and again: “AI is harmful,” “AI is bad,” “Boo, AI,” but usually, people don’t go into details about why, making us think that they just don’t like our new technology. However, this isn’t true. When AI was created, it was originally designed to imitate human intelligence back in 1950 when they started testing the machine intelligence, this was before our modern AI was introduced as a “tool” to help you do anything.
Why AI is a problem and overall inefficient.
A lot of people have become dependent on AI for more than what it was supposed to do, such as using it for art, videos, and content creation, stuff that is supposed to be creative; however, AI goes online and straight up steals the content made by people to teach itself, and makes a poor remade version, making an amalgamation of several styles, making the image come out messy and overall poor. Not to mention that the AI is cannibalizing its own art, making it less and less accurate every time.
From several sources, AI has also been found to be incorrect and to be spreading misinformation. All AI that has promised to give accurate information has been tested, and very few times did they get an answer correct, and a few even got nowhere near being correct on any of the questions proposed. Yet people still rely on AI despite it being proven that it’s not efficient for helping with work.
Let’s shift focus from how AI lies to us to how much AI takes from the environment and our electricity. AI has been vastly taking millions of liters of water just to run all the AI that exists currently. Scientists predict that by 2027, AI will be taking 4.2 – 6.6 billion cubic meters of water. This is a horrific number, not to mention that it uses massive amounts of electricity and data.
