Justin Zavaleta Perez isn’t your normal senior; he’s picked up a lot of wisdom and advice along his high school journey. To start, his favorite color is sky blue, which is really a pretty shade, and his favorite candy is called “Paleta Payaso,” a Mexican candy. His favorite animal is a cat, specifically, a calico cat. However, his biggest fear is a spider.
But behind the basics, he’s actually got some good advice. He’s planning on going to college at Ball State for “film and media studies,” he says. He gives the quote, “A journey starts with a single step,” which really can lead you places. Advice he would have given to his younger self, and will help the freshman, is, “Don’t be stupid.” His dream in life is quite sentimental, he says, he wants to make sure his “little brother exceeds in life,” Which is really sweet and caring of him.
Some final things about Justin are that he prefers sunsets over sunrises. Algebra II was his favorite class because “it was easy, fun, and interactive,” he said. To add on, some clubs he’s done during his time at CHS have been WDSO, which his older brother introduced him to. A teacher he’d like to thank is Mr. Waters, because “he’s always been there for me,” Justin said. His best school memory was when he got to go on a field trip last year for radio and television, “we got to learn more about how radio and television have changed,” he said.
We wish Justin the best of luck after high school! It was great getting to know him! His final thoughts were, “Is this live?”
