Nick Lackey is a senior here at Chesterton High School, and before spring break, we spoke about his plans. After graduation, he plans to go to PNW to study nursing, a dream of his.
Nick’s favorite color is black, and he has no fears. His favorite candy is a KitKat. He prefers sunsets over sunrises. Also, his favorite animal is a dog. “I love dogs.”
His best school memory was when he did precision engineering with Mr. Moodie. Some other school memories he’s had are thanks to his friends–and he wants to thank those who helped him through high school. For his friends, he’d like to shout out Aly Malinovsky, Justin Zavaleta Perez, and Jonus Robert Ferrio. While at CHS, he’s been involved in WDSO, the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue, and track and field. He says, “I’m going to miss being at Chesterton High School, and I enjoyed my time here.”
He also has advice for the freshman, or advice he would have given himself as an underclassman; he says, “Try and push yourself and do the harder option than the easier option.” He would also like to mention the quote John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.”
While this may be the last few months of Nick’s time here, he’s walking away, leaving a lasting impact by making friends, helping others, and doing the things he loves. Thank you, Nick, for taking the time to talk to us! We wish you the best in achieving your goals!
