The Boys’ Cross Country Valley Cross Kickoff was hosted in Terre Haute, Indiana, at the LaVern Gibson Course on Saturday, August 16, 2025. It began at 8:00 AM CDT(Central Daylight Time). The Chesterton High School boys’ cross-country team participated in a race against many other high school cross-country teams. The team placed eighth even while competing against 28 different schools. The course itself has an external track of 3k(3,000 meters/1.9 miles) and four internal loops that extend the track to a maximum of 10k(10,000 meters/6.3 miles); however, the Valley Cross Kickoff itself was a 5k(5,000 meters/3.1 miles) race.

Interviewer (Sage): “What was it like running for so long?”
Job Hennigar: “I mean, in the race, it’s kind of a mindset. I mean, you’re a part of cross country, you’re gonna run. You’re gonna hurt a little bit, but it’s about pushing through that.”
