CHS students celebrated Pi Day on March 13 (3.14 is on Saturday this year) with a fun tradition that mixed math, school spirit, and a little bit of whipped cream. Pi Day honors the mathematical constant π (pi), the number used to represent the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.
This year, the Student Government organized a Pi Day fundraiser where students could donate for the chance to pie a teacher in the face. The event drew lots of laughs as Mr. Hennigar, Mr. Waters, Mrs. O’Neill, and Mrs. Kurzinski bravely volunteered to take part. During the event, students lined up to deliver a pie while their classmates cheered them on.
The fundraiser was a big success thanks to the enthusiasm of both students and staff. Student Government would like to thank everyone who participated, donated, and helped organize the event, as well as the teachers who were willing to get a little messy for a good cause. Pi Day once again proved to be a memorable and entertaining tradition at CHS.
