Charlotte Basich Posed For A Photo After Looking Into The Journalism Table
Photo Provided by Sophia Sylvester
Back in April at the Eighth Grade Parent Night, several interested journalists. Our table was constantly overflowing with questions, and we barely had a moment to write this article! (A slight journalism joke there.) We really did have a lot of people come up, and it was amazing. Now, if you missed the eighth-grade orientation night and are interested in either Newspaper or Yearbook, stay tuned.
The Eighth Grade Parent Night was held on April 2nd, and at the event, students and parents could look into potential clubs and classes. Some of the options students got to explore were: Work Ethic, Creative Writing Club, WDSO, different department heads, Newspaper/Yearbook, Art classes, and so much more! Of all the attendees, students were able to sign up for or receive advice or information on clubs or classes they were interested in.
For the journalism table, we showcased some of our more prominent newspaper articles, prior yearbooks, and templates for what the yearbook looked like. Students and parents had an opportunity to grab syllabi for each class to understand how each class worked and what to expect. Lots of you came up to us with questions, ideas, or even just curiosity! It was amazing getting to meet the future class of 2030!
This article is being published a little ways out from April 2nd, by over a month. For those of you who are interested in joining either the newspaper or yearbook, don’t be afraid to reach out with questions! With more information on the way, summer just starting, and the freshmen about to come for Freshman Orientation, we wanted to thank students for taking the time to read our articles.
High school is a huge step for everyone–it’s a time to find yourself, your passions, and different dreams and goals you’ll aspire to. We hope all future freshmen were able to choose some amazing clubs, learn about potential classes, and speak to upperclassmen. If you weren’t able to come up to the Newspaper/Yearbook table last month, please reach out to Mrs. Jendzrejczyk at [email protected] for more information.
If you weren’t able to sign up, don’t hesitate to reach out! We can’t wait to collaborate with you next year!
