WDSO 88.3 FM Celebrates 50 Years with Community Open House and Anniversary Party
Chesterton, IN — May 17, 2026 — WDSO 88.3 FM is proud to celebrate five decades of community radio with a special 50th Anniversary Open House and Evening Celebration on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The station invites alumni, current members, and the broader community to join in honoring this milestone.
The celebration will begin with an Open House from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Chesterton High School, located at 2125 South 11th Street in Chesterton. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the station, connect with past and present staff members, and learn more about WDSO’s history and ongoing impact as a local voice in Northwest Indiana.
Following the open house, festivities will continue with a 50th Anniversary Party from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chesterton Moose Lodge, 602 Broadway, Chesterton, IN. The evening event will feature live music from Janky Limo, Ohh Deveraux!, and Chester Brown, with sound support generously contributed by Sanders Indiana Hardware and Dave Weiandt. A suggested donation of $5–$10 is appreciated for the evening event.
“This event celebrates not only the longevity of WDSO, but the incredible community that has supported and shaped it over the past 50 years,” said Emily Fletcher, Operations Manager. “We’re excited to bring together generations of listeners, volunteers, and supporters to honor WDSO’s legacy.”
