It’s time to donate and dance to support Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
April 18, from 4-8pm, in the CHS Fieldhouse, the Philanthropy Club will sponsor their second annual danceathon. “Our DJ was officer Joe last year, and it was a great event!,” said senior and club member, Lana Glazer. “Organizing a big event is always difficult because of all the moving parts, but the club is extremely helpful and always willing to lend a helping hand!”
In addition to music, there will be games and snacks and dancers will be able to hear about their impact. “The event supports a great cause and helps kids get through things that they should never have to worry about!” Glazer explained. This mission is personal for her. “I chose to support this event because my younger sister had cancer and was treated at Lurie Children’s Hospital during Covid. The money we raise goes directly to the hospital and helps them so that they don’t ever have to turn down patients!”
The club has big goals in mind. “This year we will have similar things as the first year except more people, food, and, of course, we will have raised more money. Our goal is $15,000 this year, and we are about $2,000 away.” If you can, please consider helping Philanthropy Club meet their goal by giving HERE.
And if you’re able, stop by, hear a story or two, have a snack, and get in some cardio! Dancing is good for your heart and your soul. And this time, you can help a child in need, too.
