We made it to the third quarter, and things are starting to wind back up into a routine from winter break. With nothing much to do during this winter season, why not enter the reading contest being held in the library? It’s low commitment and a great chance to relax.
The contest will run from February 2nd to March 20th this year. The requirements are to read books! The more books you read, the more chances there are for prizes. Reading one book will get you a snack from a box, three books, an ice cream social at the end of the contest, and five, a book! You don’t need to read all five, though; reading just one is good enough to be in the contest! This should be a fun event and a little break from your day! Reading just one book is amazing!

There are no requirements on what type of book it is, just that you fill out a sheet giving it your rating and other information on the book. These sheets are available in the library. It can be any genre, any author, and published from any time period. Other than that, the contest is quite simple. Read a book, fill out a sheet, and get a prize! Once you sign up, you’ll be able to have some fun and get some prizes! So why not head down to the library and have some fun?
Stuck on where to start? Some book recommendations are the Rosies, which are located in the library. Rosies are voted on books for the state of Indiana for teenagers, and the books that are nominated change each year. While some personal book recommendations are, the Hunger Games, the Scythe series, and for if you like manga, A Silent Voice.
In order to sign up, head down to the library and talk to a librarian! We have four wonderful librarians; Mrs. Wilt, Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Komp, and Mrs. Cooney. So let’s cozy up and read a book this winter and get ready for the prizes to come! See you at the ice cream social!
